Lush is partnering up with the Trevor Project to help spread awareness about LGBTQIA+ youth and community. To avoid the perils of Rainbow Capitalism, Lush has promised to donate over 50% of the proceeds to the Trevor Project in their efforts to provide mental health resources to the queer youth that need them.

'Fruity' is historically a slang or slur used to degrade the LGBTQIA+ community. Words like this have been taken back by recent generations in order to show the strength and reliance of the youth.

Don't worry, we don't think that bath bombs will solve everything...

It's true that many companies slap a rainbow on a product and think they've solved homophobia. But at Lush, we want to further advance the awareness of the oppression that LGBTQIA+ youth, trans youth, and LGBTQIA+ youth of color have with the help of the Trevor Project. It's not much, but if one more person is more informed because of it, we've done what we've set out to do.

Quick Note about this Campaign:

As someone who is in the queer community, I don't find the term 'fruity' to be offensive or derogatory in the current year 2022. In fact, I love using it in my everyday life to refer to myself and my peers. Most millennials and gen-z are likely comfortable with the use of this word, but it should be noted that some might have not considered it to be 'reclaimed' yet. I'm only one person so it probably would be best to do some follow-up research if this were to actually be used. Thanks, XOXO
